(CLEARWATER) Due to overwhelming demand, The Outlaws Green Grass & Yuletide Jam with special guests The Atlanta Rhythm Section have added a second show at the Capitol Theatre on Wednesday, December 5 at 8 pm. Tickets go on sale Friday, August 24 at 10 am. The concert on Friday, December 7 is sold-out.
For The Outlaws, it was always about the music. For 40 years, The Outlaws celebrated triumphs, endured tragedies and survived legal nightmares to remain one of the most influential and best-loved bands of the Southern Rock genre. Formed in Tampa in 1972, The Outlaws – known for their triple-guitar rock attack and three-part country harmonies – became one of the first acts signed by Clive Davis (at the urging of Ronnie Van Zant) to his then-fledgling Arista Records. The band’s first three albums The Outlaws, Lady In Waiting and Hurry Sundown – featuring such rock radio favorites as There Goes Another Love Song, Green Grass and High Tides, Knoxville Girl and Freeborn Man – would become worldwide gold and platinum landmarks of the Southern rock era. Known as “The Florida Guitar Army” by their fans, The Outlaws earned a formidable reputation as an incendiary live act touring with friends The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Marshall Tucker Band and The Charlie Daniels Band as well as The Doobie Brothers, The Who, The Eagles and The Rolling Stones. Opening the show will be special guests The Atlanta Rhythm Section, known for hits like So Into You, Imaginary Lover, Doraville, I’m Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight, Do It Or Die, Spooky and Alien.
"We're humbled by the early sell-out of our 5th Annual Green Grass and Yuletide Jam,” commented founding member Henry Paul. “With a 2nd show added, maybe this time we'll get a chance to cross the Courtney Campbell Causeway and head down to Ybor City for some Cuban Sandwiches and Crab Rolls! It’s great to come home.”
There will also be a silent auction to support The Outlaws charity of choice, Musicares. Musicares helps financially fund uninsured musicians with their healthcare needs.
Reserved tickets priced at $89.50, $69.50, $49.50 and $39.50 will be available at the Ruth Eckerd Hall Ticket Office located at 1111 McMullen Booth Road in Clearwater or by calling 727.791.7400.  The Ruth Eckerd Hall Ticket Office is open Monday through Saturday, from 10 am to 6 pm and one hour prior to show time. Patrons may also purchase tickets at www.AtTheCap.com 24/7. *A limited number of VIP packages, which include a premium seat and a meet & greet opportunity, are available and priced at $149.50.
